Power outage across parts of far north

A power outage is currently impacting SaskTel Internet, Wireless, Landline (SaskTel Home and Business Phone) customers across parts of the north.

The areas affected are: Collins Bay, Southend, Stony Rapids, Wollaston Lake, Grandmother’s Bay, Missinipe, Brabant Lake, McLean Lake, Cigar Lake and surrounding communities served by these exchanges.

SaskTel said in a media release Thursday night that crews would begin working to restore service as soon as it is safe to do so.

At this time, there is no estimated time of repair.

The specific cause of the outage was not reported although various wildfires are active in the region.
