SARCAN Recycling opening new depot in Buffalo Narrows

Soon Buffalo Narrows residents won’t have to make the trek to Meadow Lake or La Ronge to recycle their tin and plastic.

SARCAN Recycling is opening a new depot in early 2016 to accommodate the 9,000 people who live in Buffalo Narrows, Ile-a-la-Crosse, Beauval, La Loche, Dillon, Birch Narrows, Clearwater and other small communities in the area.

The new depot will provide approximately 15 jobs for residents, with the opportunity for more hires in the future.

The new depot is a joint venture between SARCAN, the Ministry of Environment and the Buffalo Narrows Economic Development Corporation.

“With the ease and convenience of the new location, more product will be recycled locally and that’s good news for both people in the area and our environment,” Saskatchewan’s Minister of Environment Herb Cox said.
