UPDATE: The RM of Spiritwood No. 496 has issued a fire ban effective immediately until further notice. All open air and outdoor fires are banned but propane or natural gas barbecues are allowed.

Some local Rural Municipalities (RM) have announced fire bans amid the ongoing dry weather recently.

According to a municipal order, the RM of Prince Albert No. 461 has announced the measures until further notice.

This applies to all lands located within the RM of Prince Albert. The order says no one is allowed to light or start a fire of any kind in open air, burn permits are suspended until further notice and lighting of fire works is prohibited.

The RM of Buckland No. 491 has also ordered a fire ban until further notice. This includes all lands located inside the RM of Buckland. The same rules from the RM of Prince Albert apply.

According to their Facebook page, the RM of Shellbrook and Town of Shellbrook announced fire bans as of Wednesday April 21 until further notice.
