Raiders look to pull ahead of season series vs. Pats
The Prince Albert Raiders will be seeing a lot of the Regina Pats in the next few games. They take on the Subway Hub Centre hosts tonight at 8 p.m., before closing out the season seasons on Sunday, also at 8 p.m.
The Raiders and Pats split the opening two games against each other with the Raiders winning the season opener 6-3, while the Pats exacted revenge by way of a 5-3 win on March 25.
The Pats will be without the WHL’s first player granted exceptional status in Connor Bedard, who, like Raiders’ Nolan Allan, is off to the IIHF Under-18 World Championship in Frisco, Tex.
That’s a relief to the Raiders, as Bedard earned two points in both of his games against the Raiders. In his WHL debut, Bedard had a pair of goals 48 seconds apart in the Raiders 6-3 victory on March 12. Then in the Pats’ 5-3 win on March 25, Bedard had a pair of assists. After he played his final game for the Pats this year on April 9, Bedard left the WHL in a tie for the league lead in goals with 12 and points with 28 in 15 games played.
