Prince Albert Firefighters Charity donates $2,500 to Rose Garden Hospice

The Prince Albert Firefighters Charity has officially joined the long list of donors to the Rose Garden Hospice.

On Wednesday morning they donated $2,500 to help get the hospice one step closer to their $4 million goal.

Graham Pedersen, the president of the charity, said they chose to donate to the hospice because it will be a vital facility for end-of-life care.

“It’s great. Our charity, we take initiative on keeping the majority of our donations local and to be able to do that in something that’s going to benefit the community of Prince Albert is very meaningful to us,” Pedersen said.

The money was raised from donations from different organizations as well as fundraising. They allocate the funds raised to different community initiatives. Amid the COVID-19 pandemic Pedersen said fundraising has been hard.

“We still receive donations here and there which is great, but it’s definitely a challenge for us right now to fundraise,” he said.
