Cross country skier located safe and sound, following three hour search effort
An exhaustive search effort Tuesday night on the ski trails north of Anglin Lake ended with some good news.
Around 8:25p.m., the Lakeland and District Fire Department responded to a reported missing individual on the trail system. Crews responded and assisted RCMP, Conservation Officers, and Saskatchewan Protective Service air unit in a rapid search for the individual. Search teams on snowmobiles spent over three hours on the trails.
A spokesperson for the Saskatchewan RCMP told paNOW there was a group of people cross-country skiing, and a man in his 50’s got separated from the group.
When the man didn’t show up at the pre-arranged destination, the other members of the group got concerned. Not knowing there were people looking for him, the man was later found safe and sound at another residence.
