Second World War veteran from Carrot River turning 100
A Carrot River resident will hit the centennial mark on Feb. 2.
Kenneth Alfred (Alf) Sauder will turn 100 years old. Sauder served in the Second World War (WWII) from 1942 to 1945 with 413 (Tusker) Squadron.
Sauder’s family is from Carrot River where they ran a family farm. He returned to town following WWII to take over the farm and carry on. He enjoys curling, fishing, hunting, and cards – especially crib.
Sauder’s son in-law Bob Duns told northeastNOW he’s unsure of Sauder’s tips to live to 100.
