Five more players are set to spend the 2021 CFL season with the Saskatchewan Roughriders.

The team announced it has re-signed a pair of Canadians – wide receiver Jake Harty and defensive end Jordan Reaves – to one-year extensions. Both were set to become free agents on Feb. 9, 2021. Defensive back AJ Hendy also opted back into his contract with the team.

The team also announced it has signed American defensive back Jeremy Clark and wide receiver Sammie Coates.

Harty signed with the Roughriders in 2018, but has yet to play a game with the green and white after suffering a torn ACL during training camp that year. The now 29-year-old also missed all of the 2019 season due to that injury as well.

Harty has played in 34 CFL games, all for the Ottawa Redblacks, from 2015-to-2017. The Calgary-born receiver has caught 36 passes for 307 yards and one touchdown during his career.

Reaves also missed the 2019 campaign due to a knee injury. The Winnipeg-born defender played in 17 games with the team in 2018, recording 12 special teams tackles. He first signed with the Roughriders in 2016.

Clark was taken by the NFL’s New York Jets in the sixth round (197th overall) in 2017. He played in two games over the 2018-19 seasons there. The Kentucky product recently played with the XFL’s Seattle Dragons, making 10 tackles and one interceptions.

Coates is a name NFL fans might recall, having played 44 games over four seasons. The 27-year-old suited up for the Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns and Houston Texans. Hailing from Leroy, Alabama, Coates played four games with the XFL’s Houston Roughnecks, making six catches for 61 yards.

Hendy was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Miami Dolphins in 2016. He spent 2017 and 2018 on the Los Angeles Chargers practice roster. He played for the XFL’s New York Guardians, collecting 26 tackles, two tackles for loss and four pass deflections.
