SHA identifies COVID-19 cases at three separate P.A. schools

Nov 20, 2020 | 6:30 PM

The Saskatchewan Health Authority has identified three separate COVID-19 cases at three individual schools: Carlton Comprehensive Public High School, Riverside Public School and Ecole Vickers Public School in Prince Albert.

“The division is hoping the recovery is quick and thorough and we extend our get-well wishes to these members of our school community and offer our support to their surrounding families,” Director of Education Robert Bratvold said in a release.

The division was informed of the test results recently and administrators are now communicating with affected classrooms, cohorts and staff. Students and staff impacted by the cases are required to isolate as directed by the health team, the release said. Remote learning will continue for affected students.

The division did not include any further details of the cases due to privacy concerns.

All schools will remain open for in-person classes for students not required to isolate. The division said there has been no evidence that transmission has occurred within any SRPSD schools.

The division asks that families and community members continue to self-monitor, stay home if ill, call HealthLine 811 if exhibiting COVID-19 symptoms, practice proper hand hygiene, maintain physical distancing, wear a mask when appropriate and keep each other safe.
