Two men are dead after their plane crashed in the Estevan area Sunday morning.

It happened near Torquay, Sask, about 200 kilometers south east of Regina, around 10:12 a.m.

RCMP said the men were the only two on board the Cessna at the time of the crash.

The plane was reported overdue a short time before it was found in a field.

RCMP, along with an investigation team from the Transport Canada Safety Board remain at the scene working to determine the cause of the crash.

The names of the deceased have not yet been released while police contact the families.
RCMP could not confirm the origin or the destination of the aircraft late Sunday afternoon.

Environment Canada reported thunderstorms and funnel clouds in the area, however it is not known if weather was a factor in the crash.
