Voting now open for 2021 BOB Awards

Residents in Prince Albert and area are now able to vote for their favourite community services and businesses as the paNOW BOB Awards have officially entered phase two and are open for voting.

Marlene Stene, sales manager at paNOW says this is a chance for companies and service providers to be recognized as the best in Prince Albert.

“The BOB awards are a local competition for businesses to be nominated as the Best of the Best (BOB) in their categories,” Stene said. “This is done on paNOW. People can go to the nominations and vote for the ones they feel best about so they can be awarded the Best of the Best for 2021.”

The categories people can vote in include arts and entertainment, food and drink, health, beauty and style, local goodness, shopping and services, and sports and recreation. There are over 200 different categories to vote on within the six main categories.

There will be no red-carpet event this year. Instead, once all the votes are counted, a post listing the winners will be available on the website.

“We are trying to figure out something we can do for the winners, individually,” Stene said. “We will certainly find a way to document the winners and have available some sort of photo-op.”

The BOB Awards are a way for the community to give back some recognition to those who have worked so hard to keep things open during the pandemic.

“The nominations and being voted best of the best will definitely uplift some of the smaller businesses and give them a good feeling about being in our community and being able to service Prince Albert and area,” Stene added.

Adding to the conversation about the importance of the award this year, senior account executive for paNOW, Joe Bexson says this year’s awards will give people something to celebrate again.

“The importance of the BOB Awards this year is definitely magnified by COVID,” Bexson said. “People are all looking for something to celebrate, and there is more emphasis this year on celebrating any achievement.

Residents can vote once per day on the paNOW website until Nov. 22. The winners will be announced Nov. 27.
