Highway 40 blocked northeast of Blaine Lake after collision

UPDATE: As of 5 p.m. the highway has reopened and the lanes are no longer blocked.

The Blaine Lake RCMP is alerting the public Highway 40 northeast of Blaine Lake is blocked in both directions following a two-vehicle collision this morning.

The police are asking drivers to avoid the area and plan for a different course of direction.

According to a media release, police received the report of the collision at 7:40 a.m., two kilometres northeast of the community.

The Blaine Lake RCMP and an RCMP reconstructionist are still on scene. They will send an update when they reopen the highway.
