Walk-up testing available for all in Prince Albert this week

Oct 14, 2020 | 11:00 AM

Mobile walk-up testing for COVID-19 is available this week in Prince Albert, with no appointment needed, and no symptoms required.

The testing will take place Wednesday, Oct. 14 and Thursday, Oct. 15 from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. at The Cone Shop Car Wash on 6th Ave. E. and 8th St. across from the Midtown Hall.

This walk-up testing in universally available, and does not require a referral from HealthLine 811 or a family physician or nurse practitioner. All that is required is a valid health card and/or identification for each person getting tested.

Directions will be provided on arrival, and the testing will be done a first come, first serve basis so you can expect wait times. The Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) is advising that there are no public washrooms available on site.

This week’s testing was originally to be held in the Art Hauser Centre parking lot, but the location has been moved indoors because of the weather.

Pop-up testing sites are one of the ways the SHA is expanding the options for people to get tested for COVID-19 to reach the testing targets of 4,000 tests performed per day.
