SCOTT MOE, SASK PARTY: Scott Moe was first elected to the Saskatchewan Legislature in the 2011 provincial election. He was re-elected in 2016 and became leader of the Saskatchewan Party on January 27, 2018. He was sworn-in as Saskatchewan’s 15th Premier on February 2, 2018. Premier Moe won his first majority mandate as leader of the Saskatchewan Party in the October 26, 2020, provincial election.
Born and raised on a grain farm in his home constituency between Shellbrook and Parkside, Premier Moe was educated at the University of Saskatchewan where he received his Bachelor of Science in Agriculture. He and his wife Krista currently reside nearby in Shellbrook.
MARK THUNDERCHILD, NDP: Mark Thunderchild is a dedicated advocate for a strong Saskatchewan workforce and accessible healthcare. He champions living wages, affordable childcare, and the importance of a robust public sector. His vision for Saskatchewan is one where people of all ages, races, and backgrounds can thrive and feel at home. Mark is focused on building a healthier, more inclusive future for everyone in the province.
CODY LOCKHART, SASK UNITED PARTY: Cody was born and raised in the Special Areas of southern Alberta. Graduating valedictorian from Youngstown School, Cody apprenticed as a carpenter and worked on drilling rigs in the oilpatch before pursuing post-secondary education in Saskatchewan and Alberta.
Cody moved his growing family to Debden, Saskatchewan in 2009 to ranch where the rain falls.
In past years, Cody held the position of director with the Canadian Lamb Co-operative and tenures as the Producer Member for the Saskatchewan Veterinary Medical Association.
Cody and his wife of twenty years, Liesl have three daughters.
JANICE DONGWORTH, GREEN PARTY:
Janice Dongworth was born in Willow Bunch, the youngest of five children. Janice was a longtime resident of Moose Jaw when she met her husband, a Dutch Air Force pilot. They moved to Holland and raised their children there. She lived in the Netherlands for 34 years, staying until her children graduated from university then moved back to Saskatchewan.
Janice became involved with anti-nuclear groups, and she has been involved in Saskatchewan’s environmental movement ever since. She has an inherent sense of social justice and will always defend those being persecuted or mistreated.
