ERIC SCHMALZ, SASK PARTY: Since 2019, Eric has served as Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert. Before entering politics, Eric served 13 years as a member of the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. In 2016, he joined his family’s business and obtained training as an auctioneer. In 2019, Eric was elected Reeve for the RM of Prince Albert in a by-election, and subsequently re-elected in the fall of 2020. Eric resides near Prince Albert with his wife and their two children.
DOUG RACINE, NDP: Doug Racine is a military veteran and a lawyer of 25 years. He grew up in a rural community and understands the value of small towns and healthy communities. He practiced criminal, civil and administrative law; represented organizations at the Nuclear Safety Commission and National Energy Board; and appeared at the highest levels of court in Alberta, Sask and BC.
Doug served on the Board of the Saskatoon Community Clinic and has promoted sustainable forestry practices. He resides in the Saskatchewan Rivers constituency.
NADINE WILSON, SASK UNITED PARTY: First elected MLA for Saskatchewan Rivers in the 2007 provincial election, Nadine was re-elected in 2011, 2016, and 2020.
Nadine studied social service work and was twice elected reeve of the rural municipality of Paddockwood before making the move to provincial service.
Nadine became an independent member in September 2021. In November 2022, the Saskatchewan United Party was registered, and Nadine served as leader until May 2024 when she stepped down to become deputy leader.
Fourth generation cattle ranchers, Nadine and her husband Doug reside north of Prince Albert.
ALESHA BRUCE, GREEN PARTY: Alesha Bruce started her teaching career in 2007. She has taught in Christopher Lake, Wildrose, Red Wing, Spruce Home and Shellbrook.
Alesha’s great-grandparents on her dad’s side homesteaded in Shellbrook. Her great-grandparents on her mom’s side homesteaded at Christopher Lake. She is Treaty Dene on her mom’s side, and of Metis lineage on her dad’s side.
Alesha believes strongly in sustainability. She has four children and being a mother motivates her to advocate for the planet.
