Saskatoon under air quality advisory
The Saskatchewan Ministry of the Environment has issued an air quality advisory for the City of Saskatoon, due to smoke from a salvage yard fire north of the city and south of Martensville.
The advisory says smoke levels are expected to vary throughout Friday evening and into Saturday morning, with the heaviest impact to northern areas in the city.
Visibility may be reduced on roadways and the smoke could pose respiratory and eye irritation.
Residents are advised to prevent smoke from entering their homes by staying indoors, keeping windows and doors closed and limiting the use of heating and ventilation systems.
