Steuart serving up skating sessions soon
The City of Prince Albert is opening the Dave G. Steuart Arena for the season starting Oct. 5.
Free and public skating sessions will be made available through online booking, as drop-ins will not be allowed due to COVID-19 protocols.
Ice bookings at the Art Hauser Centre have been nearing capacity, and the Steuart will allow for more availability for skates. Teams and clubs like the P.A. Skating Club that normally use the Steuart facility will also get that opportunity.
“The bookings at the Art Hauser have filled up, so the Steuart does get opened up,” city recreation programmer Shaun Pikaluk said. “It’s the home of the P.A. Skating Club, a lot of their ice gets used at the Steuart there.”
