Midtown drug bust case proceeds to trial

Almost one year after a major drug bust in Prince Albert’s midtown area, the case has been committed for trial.

Bryan Kunkel, 60, and Vern Ross, 61, were arrested on the night of Sept. 13, 2019, and have entered not guilty pleas to charges related to drug possession and trafficking.

Over 1,800 hydromorphone and dilaudid pills and capsules were found by police at the residence in the 500 block of 12th St. E. The approximate value of the drugs was $40,000.

Officers also located and seized $8,000 in cash.

The trial has been scheduled to take place at Court of Queen’s Bench in Prince Albert. No date has been set.
