Alberta Beef Producers delegate nominations deadline extended

Alberta Beef Producers (ABP) is currently accepting nominations for delegates to run in its 2020 elections.

ABP plans to elect seven delegates in five zones (northwest, northeast, central, southwest and southeast), which are pending approval by the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry as per proposed changes to the Alberta Beef Producers Plan Regulation (Alberta Regulation 286/2009).

Four delegates in each zone will serve two-year terms and three will serve one-year terms to establish staggered elections in the zones for the future. ABP notes this represents a reduction in its delegate body from 56 to 35 delegates.

Nominations must be submitted to the ABP office by October 15. Nomination packages can be found here.
