Police seize crack cocaine, meth, several weapons from home on Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation

The Prince Albert Crime Reduction Team has arrested and charged four individuals after a search warrant led to a large seizure of drugs, weapons, and ammunition.

The search warrant was executed yesterday with at 6 a.m. at a residence on the Ahtahkakoop Cree Nation. With cooperation from the Saskatchewan RCMP Emergency Response Team, along with the Ahtahkakoop RCMP, six individuals were taken into custody.

The search led to a seizure of prepackaged meth, crack cocaine, knives, machetes, airsoft pistols, a Taser, and ammunition.

Russell George Bird, 53, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and cocaine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breaching probation. He remains in custody and was set to appear in court today.

Jo-Dee Margaret Ratt, 53, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and cocaine, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and three counts of breaching an undertaking. Ratt was remanded and was set to appear in court today.

Dakota Bird, 21, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon. She was released on an undertaking and will appear in court in Prince Albert on Nov. 9.

Marlene Ratt, 55, was charged with possession for the purpose of trafficking meth and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose. Marlene Ratt was released on an undertaking and will appear in court in Prince Albert on Nov. 9.

The two other adults taken into custody were released without charges.

Police say the investigation remains ongoing.
