Police seize more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of crack cocaine after traffic stop

A 29-year-old man and a 25-year-old woman are facing drug and weapon charges after a traffic stop by police last week.

According to a media release by the Prince Albert Police Service, they were charged after an Integrated Crime Reduction Team investigation (ICRT).

In Wednesday, Aug. 26 just prior to 11 p.m. the police performed the traffic stop in the 1400 Block of 28th St. E.

The police found 38.5 grams of methamphetamine, $550 in cash, cellphones and an airsoft gun. After they obtained a search warrant, the ICRT searched a nearby residence and found 360 grams of methamphetamine, drug packaging materials and more than 14 grams of crack cocaine.

They also located more than $1,700 and counterfeit money and cheques. In total, the police found more than 400 grams of methamphetamine and 14 grams of crack cocaine as well as more than $2,300 in cash.

The two have been charged in the investigation with possession of a controlled substance for the purpose of trafficking, possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of forged documents, and possession of the proceeds of crime.
