Man on the run after skipping sentencing hearing
One of two men charged after a tense situation last fall in Prince Albert’s midtown area, is on the run.
Lloyd Bird, 26, was scheduled to be sentenced Aug. 12 at Prince Albert Provincial Court on a number of gun-related charges. He didn’t show up and as of this week remains on bench warrant status.
On the night of Dec. 9, 2019, police responded to a weapons complaint in the 300 block of Ninth St. E. Upon their arrival, one man exited the home and was taken into custody.
A stand off with the remaining occupants of the home then occurred, and after approximately one hour, three women and a man came out and surrendered. During a search of the home, police found a sawed off rile and an imitation firearm.
