MELFORT, Sask. – Canadian wheat prices are under pressure with news of a bumper crop.
The latest SaskWheat market outlook said wheat prices in Russia increased marginally even with a crop expected to be the second largest on record.
Canadian wheat export shipments in the new crop year were off to a good start at 424,000 tonnes.
The United States winter wheat harvest is nearing completion with the hard-red winter harvest at 86 per cent with only crops in Montana and the Pacific Northwest left to harvest.
