SASKATCHEWAN – RCMP are investigating a theft at a farm equipment dealership at Humboldt, Sask.

In the early morning hours of Aug. 11, a GPS receiver was stolen from a combine at the business on Highway 5 east of the city.

There was no other damage.

An outbreak of COVID-19 at a Cargill meat-processing facility in Calgary appears to be under control.

Alberta’s chief medical officer of health said five cases of coronavirus had been found at Case Ready Meats.

An Alberta Health Services official said the number of cases remained at five and three workers had recovered.

A Cargill spokesman said the last recorded case among Case Ready’s 400 workers was Aug. 10, and the plant is open and running at full capacity.

The union representing the workers said it is not calling for the plant to be shut down as there does not appear to have been transmission within the plant.

The plant readies meat products for sale in western Canadian supermarkets and is separate from Cargill’s slaughterhouse in High River, Alta.
