Olds College releases annual Smart Farm Impact Report

OLDS, AB – Over the last two years, Olds College has been busy transforming its existing farm into a farm of the future, by incorporating the latest technologies aimed at improving productivity, while efficiently and sustainably using resources.
Today, officials say the Olds College Smart Farm has evolved into a cutting-edge learning, applied research and demonstration environment for students, life-long learners and industry partners.
“The Olds College Smart Farm is essentially a giant lab that provides the agriculture sector a venue for commercial scale applied research,” the college says on its website. “It is attracting investment and engagement from companies ranging from multi-national ag and tech companies to small and medium enterprises.”
The college also says the Smart Farm “provides our students with a learning environment centred on the future of ag and technology, setting the learning experience apart from other programming in the country.”
