CED used by police officer to prevent tragic incident

Jun 30, 2020 | 1:11 PM

In order to help save a man’s life, a Prince Albert police officer was forced to deploy a conductive energy device (CED).

The incident happened late Saturday night in the 200 block of second St. E.

A 21-year-old man was found threatening to harm himself with a broken piece of glass.

Police attempted to disarm the man through communication but the man continued to cause self-harm, and that’s when the CED was used.

The man was then safely taken into custody and escorted to a waiting ambulance to treat injuries related to self-harm.
