Registration is now open for the Livestock Set Aside Program.

The program helps cattle and bison producers manage the cost of holding back market-ready livestock while processing plants deal with the backlog of animals caused by COVID-19.

There is a one-time registration required to enter.

An advisory committee, consisting of Saskatchewan Crop Insurance Corporation (SCIC), the Ministry of Agriculture and livestock industry groups review all enrolment applications.

Acceptance into the program is determined by eligibility and time received of each enrolment application.

Canadian wheat exports have gained ground over the past six weeks while prices have dropped to the lowest level of the year.

The Sask Wheat market outlook reported exports for week 46 amounted to 410,000 metric tonnes which is six per cent lower, bringing year-to-date exports to 15.3 million metric tonnes.

Freight on board wheat prices were down by $12 to $29 a metric tonne over the six-month period.

Organizers of a large farm show in the United States have announced the cancellation of the event for 2020.

The U.S. Farm Progress Show was scheduled for Sept. 1 to 3 near Boone, Iowa.

Organizers said the ever-changing situation with the pandemic led show management to make the decision.

Farm Progress Show alternates between Boone and Decatur, Illinois, and often serves as a venue for North American product launches.

The 2021 show will be held Aug. 31 to Sept. 2, 2021 in Decatur.
