Grass fire scorches Paddockwood area property

There was lots of smoke Wednesday afternoon, coming from a property west of Paddockwood.
According to their Facebook page, the Lakeland and District Fire Department responded around 12:45 p.m. to a ten acre grass fire. When crews arrived on scene, they discovered the fire had for the most part burned around structures. Crews worked quickly controlling the blaze, as well as protecting the structures.
One structure did catch fire, but only sustained minor damage.
A spokesperson for the Fire Department informed paNOW crews were on scene for just over two hours; the fire was accidental and was caused by a burning barrel.
