1. Family Futures Inc – This notice is effective at the end of business day Friday, April 3 until further notice.

Outreach staff at Family Futures will work from home and will continue to support their clients. We will continue to take new intakes. Leave us a message on the phone, (306)763-0760

and someone will get back to you. We will check messages on a regular basis and will still be collecting the mail.

2. Early Childhood Council cancels the Family Expo

In these uncertain time I think it is prudent that we cancel the Family Expo slated for May 9. Anyone who has paid for their booth space will have their cheque returned to them.

We may look at doing something in the fall but I am uncertain at this point.

3. Due to the COVID-19 crisis, the Prince Albert Seniors Advocacy Centre :

1. Postpones all information sessions and social programs until the end of April 2020

2. Postpones the official launch of the Prince Albert and Area Seniors Abuse Program to at least May 1st, 2020

3. There will only be limited access under the Advocacy and Navigation Program – no personal contacts or face to face meetings.

4. Calls will still be fielded at 306-970-8675.

Canadian Cancer Society Spring Event Cancellations The COVID-19 health crisis is having an undeniable impact on communities across Canada and around the world. In order to protect the well-being and safety of people living with cancer, event participants, our donors, volunteers and staff, the Canadian Cancer Society (CCS) has made the difficult decision to cancel all in-person activities and events until the end of summer. We are very grateful for the support of the cancer cause in our community.

Fundraisers and Events for Prince Albert and area:

Fresh Daffodil Pre-sales & Sales for April – cancelled Daffodil Pin Sales for April – cancelled Daffodil Pancake Breakfast at the Coronet Hotel – April 14th – cancelled Annual Spring Dinner & Show 25th Silver Anniversary – April 29th – postponed to the fall Relay For Life – Prince Albert May 22nd – in person event cancelled

Daffodil sales, Daffodil Month activities and Relay For Life have all been an important way for people to show their support for the cancer cause and we are very grateful for the continued support. Relay supporters are also encouraged to continue supporting the cause through online fundraising at relayforlife.ca/princealbert and a virtual daffodil is available for a donation at cancer.ca/daffodil and can be dedicated and shared on social media.

The Chamber has started the following page Prince Albert & District Response to COVID-19 and we are working on a daily basis to keep it updated and reflective of all the changes within our business region.

The Prince Albert & District Chamber of Commerce accepted an invitation by Frances McRae Assistant Deputy Minister, Small Business and Marketplace Services Innovation, Science and Economic Development Canada, to discuss business community concerns via daily, national conference calls.

We have been participating in these calls on your behalf. If you have insights, opinions or questions, please let us know and we will bring them forward.

On Friday the Federal Government released the following programs, at this time we are waiting for more information as to how to apply for them.

• Wage subsidy increased from 10% to 75% to qualifying businesses, backdated to March 15, 2020
• Canada Emergency Business Account for Small Businesses offering loans up to $40,000 interest free for one year, $10,000 of which may be forgivable to qualifying business.
• GST, HST and Import taxes to be deferred.
