P.A. RCMP member tests positive for COVID-19
A member of the Prince Albert RCMP has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now self-isolating as per direction from the Saskatchewan Health Authority.
On March 25, Public Health notified the officer they may have been exposed to the virus. While isolating, the officer received their positive test result for COVID-19 on March 28. The officer will continue to remain in self-isolation.
According to a media release from the Saskatchewan RCMP, staff members from the local detachment are following directions from the Saskatchewan Health Authority (SHA) in relation to the positive test result. This includes disinfecting any areas the officer may have been in and working with SHA investigators to ensure co-workers are notified of their potential exposure.
To maintain the wellbeing of officers across Saskatchewan, the RCMP is ensuring there is enhanced cleaning of detachments and police vehicles to keep the work environment as clean as possible.
