Former Prince Albert resident able to quit smoking at 89
At a time when people, especially seniors, are worried about their health, a woman from the Prince Albert area is sharing a motivating story about her grandfather’s quick road to quitting smoking.
Karla Bear’s grandfather, Cornelius Clarke was 89 when he went to the doctor for his annual checkup. The doctor told Clarke his habit of two packs of cigarettes a day would probably kill him.
According to Bear, her grandfather quit cold turkey on the advice of his doctor.
“I don’t know if there was anything else other than the doctor giving him the warning. He was always a very determined man,” Bear told paNOW.
