PA Athletics Shine in Edmonton
Members of the Prince Albert Athletics Club had a strong showing over the weekend in Edmonton.
More than a dozen local athletes took part in the 2020 Alberta Indoor Track and Field Championships, in events such as long jump, 60 metre dash, 400 metre dash, and triple jump. Many athletes achieved new personal bests at the meet.
Raedyn Reddekopp, one of Prince Albert’s youngest competitors took home five medals and achieved two personal bests over the weekend. Reddekopp, age 11, came away from the meet with a gold medal in the girl’s 60-metre dash with a time of 9.23 seconds. Fellow competitor Steele Zablocki finished second in the same category with a time of 9.79 seconds.
Reddekopp also took home two silver and two bronze medals in her other events, the 150 metre dash, 400 metre, shotput and running long jump.
