The Prince Albert Northern Bears got back into the win column in a big way on the weekend in the Battlefords. The Bears swept the Battlefords Sharks on the road with a 5-1 victory on Saturday and a 5-2 win on Sunday.

The victories snap a seven-game winless streak (six regulation losses, one overtime loss), dating back to Jan. 4.

Paris Oleksyn was the big scorer for the Bears, scoring three goals and adding an assist in the weekend set. Brooklyn Anderson had a goal in each game, as well as an assist. Kiara Stewart also had a goal in each game.

The Bears are now tied for fourth place in the Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League standings with the Saskatoon Stars, as both teams are on 39 points through 28 games. Both teams will meet for a pair of games at the Art Hauser Centre on May 7 and 8 to close out their regular seasons.
