City sells downtown police building to orthodontist

Feb 26, 2020 | 4:53 PM

Prince Albert city council has approved the sale of a downtown police building to a local orthodontic practice.

The city received three offers on the office building which was listed for sale in January. The successful bidder was Dr. Kirby Cadman.

“We’re very excited,” Cadman told paNOW.

Cadman, who has been working as an orthodontist in P.A. for 20 years, anticipates being able to move his practice, Embrace Orthodontics, into the new building by early 2021 after renovations are complete.

“We’re going to try to maintain some of the original features of the building, it’s got a lot of character, like a nice brick fireplace,” he said. “But we also want to add a more modern flair to it.”

Cadman bought the building for $365,000 plus $15,000 for the small adjacent parking lot.

Twelve years early, in a significantly different economic climate, the City of P.A. bought the building for $640,000.
