Bears better, but not enough to beat Rebels

The Prince Albert Northern Bears put together a much better effort following Saturday’s 9-1 loss to the Regina Rebels, but it still wasn’t enough hand the Rebels their first regulation loss of the year.

The Bears fell 3-1 on Sunday to the Rebels, and fell to 11-12-1 on the season in Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Bears trailed 2-0 late in the second period after SFMAAAHL leading scorer Neena Brick scored her 23^rd goal of the season. Hannah Bailey followed that up at the halfway point of the period.

But Bears captain Brooklyn Anderson got her team within reach, scoring with 1:01 left in the second period.

Rebels forward Sydney Peterson got the important 3-1 goal halfway through the third period.
