Bears better, but not enough to beat Rebels

Feb 9, 2020 | 3:19 PM

The Prince Albert Northern Bears put together a much better effort following Saturday’s 9-1 loss to the Regina Rebels, but it still wasn’t enough hand the Rebels their first regulation loss of the year.

The Bears fell 3-1 on Sunday to the Rebels, and fell to 11-12-1 on the season in Saskatchewan Female Midget AAA Hockey League action.

The Bears trailed 2-0 late in the second period after SFMAAAHL leading scorer Neena Brick scored her 23rd goal of the season. Hannah Bailey followed that up at the halfway point of the period.

But Bears captain Brooklyn Anderson got her team within reach, scoring with 1:01 left in the second period.
