Million buck smile: P.A.man’s lottery win “unbelievable.”

Prince Albert’s newest millionaire couldn’t believe it when he got the call letting him know he was the big winner.

Ron Lypchuk told paNOW he got the call telling him the news about the Touch Down for Kids Millionaire Lottery as he was getting into his car.

“A young boy by the name of Cohyn congratulated me and I just thought it was a joke,” he said.

Lypchuk said after speaking with the lad he got on the phone with Roughrider’s centre Dan Clark, who assured him the win was for real. The youngster who had initially called is an ambassador for the lottery.

Since the news broke Lypchuk has had a number of people reach out to congratulate him.

“It’s unbelievable the number of friends that have called me,” he said.

The lottery is a collaboration between the Saskatchewan Roughriders Foundation and the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. Lypchuk, who is Remax real-estate agent in P.A. said he has been a supporter of the children’s hospital foundation for about 12 years. He added it has been amazing to see the hospital open its doors.

Lypchuk said he had no immediate plans for the money and the family will take some time before making any decisions.

“It’s like anybody else, you’ve got some bills you want to pay off, you want to help the kids out a bit and then maybe take a bit of a holiday,” he said.

Lypchuk noted the extra cash will also help with his retirement which is not far off.
