Crusaders take home gold at Kelly Smith tournament

The Carlton Crusaders senior girls basketball team celebrated their school’s third gold medal finish at the Kelly Smith Invitational Tournament on Saturday at Ecole St. Mary. No other team in the tournament’s history has won more than the Crusaders.

They defeated the North Battleford Vikings 73-49 in the finals to win the tournament.

The hosting St. Mary Marauders got to the bronze medal match, falling to the Holy Cross Crusaders from Saskatoon 49-41.
