Steve Young, head coach of the bantam AA P.A. Lehner Electric Foxes explained the tournament provides a good opportunity for teams coming off the holiday break. He said they especially appreciate having tournament play this season.

“I think the timing’s perfect for that type of thing, the league that we’re in this year is very parable,” he told paNOW.

Heading into the weekend tournament, the Foxes coaching staff was hoping for a strong outing to help get their players get back in the flow.

Young’s team has started off the tournament strong. Currently the Foxes are undefeated holding a record of 2-0. The coach said while some of the scores have been one sided, the overall level of competition at the tournament has been good.

“It’s one game at a time,” he said.

Round robin play will to go through Saturday, with the tournament champions set to be crowned Sunday afternoon.
