Titans hold off late surge from Thunder

The Prince Albert Titans got back in the win column on Sunday at the Kinsmen Arena, holding on to a 6-5 victory against the Carrot River Outback Thunder.

The Titans picked up their ninth win on the season and are flirting with a .500 record with at 9-11-3. They’re currently third in the Bob Dybvig Division of the PJHL.

The Titans had a 6-2 lead with 13:36 remaining. The Thunder then tried to rally late and their comeback effort ended up one goal short. Kaleb Charko led the way for the Titans offensively with a goal and three assists. Tanner Hendriks had the game-winning goal and two helpers. Braeden Mishak and Ben Zultok each had a goal and an assist. Jakob Tournier also scored for the Titans.

Carson Schewaga made 36 saves on 41 shots for his fifth win on the season.

The Titans will play the rest of December on the road with games on Dec. 11 against the Saskatoon Royals, Dec. 13 against the Saskatoon Westley, Dec. 18 against the Saskatoon Quakers, Dec. 1 against the Triple Seven Chrysler Storm and Dec. 22 against the Regina Capitals.
