P.A. residents get a chance to be in a music video

May 13, 2011 | 11:42 AM

Donny Parenteau and his band will be shooting a live performance music video in Prince Albert and they’re looking for an energetic audience to fill the seats at the show.

The video is for a new single featuring Charlie Daniels on the fiddle.

“We wanted to make a live video that we would send to CMT and we thought a really cool location would be the E. A. Rawlinson Centre,” Parenteau said.

Buying a ticket for the show doesn’t guarantee a person will be on TV, but Parenteau said there are some things that could help a person’s chances.

“Honestly the more rowdy you are, the more the camera guy likes you, the more possibility you’re going to have of being in that video because we are going to be shooting live footage of the crowd.”

They are shooting video footage of the band beforehand so that when the show starts, focus will be on the crowd, Parenteau said.

The show also features special guests Kenny Shields and Streetheart, who Parenteau met during TeleMiricle this year.

All of the ticket sales will go to schools in Prince Albert for their graduating classes to help pay for things like the cost of renting a facility for graduation.

When asked why he wanted to give the money there, Parenteau quite simply said he believes in the schools.

“It’s very close to my heart because the It Starts With A Dream tour that I started about two years ago and going around and motivating the students as a motivational speaker and talking to them and letting them know to pursue their goals. This is just my way of giving something back.”

Tickets are $10 for the live show video shoot. Tickets are available at the E. A. Rawlinson Centre’s box Office.

The show starts at 7:00 p.m. on May 18.
