Poundmaker Cree Nation chief Duane Antoine, who pleaded guilty last month to stealing reserve funds, has been re-elected.

Band elections were held on Friday, and Antoine managed to beat out the 3 other candidates.

Antoine was in provincial court last month in North Battleford and pleeaded guilty to one count of theft under $5,000, which stems from the misspending of Treaty Land Entitlement Funds in 2004.

Colin Favel, a band council member who also pleaded guilty to theft alongside Antoine, was also re-elected on Friday.
