Alleged gang members to face trial following weapons bust

Nov 28, 2019 | 2:00 PM

Two men charged in connection to a substantial weapons bust in Prince Albert last September have entered not guilty pleas.

Cory Redman and Justin Charles appeared via video Thursday morning at Prince Albert Provincial Court from the Prince Albert Correctional Centre. Their respective lawyers entered the pleas on their behalf.

The case itself dates back to Sept. 23, when police were called to an address in the city’s west flat area. A passerby reported several people pushing a vehicle into a parking stall.

Police soon discovered the vehicle was reported as stolen. As part of their subsequent investigation, officers recovered a number of weapons including sawed off rifle, a Taser, a Winchester shotgun, and two machetes.

Trial dates for Redman and Charles have been scheduled for Feb. 26. The co-accused in the case, Emily Roberts and Darian, have pending court dates on Dec. 4 and Dec. 23 respectively. All four face a combined total of more than 100 charges.
