Prince Albert gets outdoors for rare warm day

Nov 24, 2019 | 11:00 AM

It was back to freezing rain and dreary weather Sunday, but yesterday Prince Albert residents took advantage of the unusual pleasant temperatures.

The temperature high reached 9 C which is around 14 degrees warmer than the norm.

Local resident Kevin Cook was out enjoying a walk with his dog.

“I was on Facebook this morning and there was a picture of me, Patty, and the dog walking practically in the same spot and it was four years ago, and the snow must’ve been a foot and a half deep,” he explained. “It was freezing cold.”

He said they have lived in Prince Albert for 16 years and had never seen this sort of weather late November.

“Awesome, love it, I could deal with this all year round,” he laughed. “I don’t want the snow.”

Marie Cochrane spent some time with her grandchildren at the playground outside of the Alfred Jenkins Field House.

She said it’s great to be able to go to enjoy the park in late November.

“Grandma said to them ‘let’s go out to the park’ and yeah they wanted to go, and they wanted the Alfred Jenkins,” Cochrane said.
