Police on the lookout for escaped prisoner

Nov 19, 2019 | 11:45 AM

UPDATE: Prince Albert RCMP issued a media release Wednesday evening saying Courtney Sinclair had been located and arrested without incident. Police thanked the public for their assistance.

Police are searching for a prisoner who escaped police custody yesterday.

Courtney Leanne Sinclair, 23, was arrested Nov. 18 after police investigated a break and enter. While in custody, she complained of abdominal pain and was taken to hospital as a precaution.

At the time of her visit, she was not restrained. Sinclair escaped and fled. No hospital staff members saw her leave, police say.

Members of the Prince Albert RCMP and Prince Albert Police Service made patrols around the hospital, but Sinclair remains at large.

She is described as 5-5, 180 pounds with shoulder-length brown hair and hazel eyes. When she was last seen, Sinclair wore grey sweatpants, a black hooded sweatshirt, navy blue dock shoes and beige hospital socks.

Police say Sinclair has a previous history of violent offences and should not be approached.

If you have any information on her location, you are urged to contact the Prince Albert RCMP. To submit information anonymously, contact Crime Stoppers.
