Sister Juliana was born on December 20th, 1929, in Prince Albert, SK. She joined The Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in 1947. In 1949, she started her teaching career in Debden, and then went on to Duck Lake, Green Lake, Vawn, Spiritwood, and Makwa. She also taught in St. Lazare and Laurier, MB. She was an energetic and well-organized teacher loved by her students. During a year off, she was able to read all the spiritual books that she had wanted to read for a long time. Another hobby she enjoyed and in which she excelled was making quilts for the needy and the poor. In 2004, she took the direction of the infirmary for four years where she journeyed with our elderly and sick sisters. In 2007 she retired at the Provincial House at which time she was engaged in Rivier Alumni and Bible sharing with close friends. Throughout her years at the Provincial House, Sister Juliana found time to act as a volunteer at the Penitentiary. Twice a week she would attend mass and then give religion classes to the interested inmates who held her in great esteem. She truly enjoyed this kind of apostolate. Sister Juliana will be remembered for being a woman of strong faith and for her sincere, loving service of God’s people. Interment will take place in the Sister’s Section, South Hill Cemetery.
