Lenora Victoria Sampson was born on February 10, 1927 in Allan, SK. She passed away on Wednesday, October 13, 2010 at the age of 83 years. Family meant everything to Mom. Left to mourn are her beloved children Hugh (Lynn) Sampson, Colleen (Don) Code, Tanis (Reg) Quaale and Karen (Dale) Pratt; her grandchildren Joey, Rae, Paget, Jillian, Rebecca, Ashton, Jeff, Daniel, Shea, Devin and Landon; her great grandchildren Abigail, Sheldon, Tyra, Kaitlyn, Tia, Kolbie, Madden and Mya; her sisters Leona (Jack) Kinahan and Theresa (Anthony) Ducie; her sisters-in-law Helen, Dorothy and Elsie Heisler; as well as many nieces and nephews. Lenora was predeceased by her loving husband Paget; her parents Wendelin and Theresa Heisler; her granddaughter Danielle; her brothers Vic, Alvin and Arnold Heisler; her brothers-in-law William (Muriel) Sampson, Philip (Beth) Sampson and her sister-in-law Audrey (Wilbert) Foster. Mom went to school in Livelong, Fairholm and Mildred as her family moved. She finished her high school in the Rosetown Convent, graduating in 1945. In 1949 she graduated from the Holy Family Hospital in Prince Albert as a Registered Nurse, and worked there one year following graduation. In 1950 she was employed at the Birch Hills Hospital. It is here that she met Paget, the love of her life. They were married in 1951 and resided on the Sampson family farm where she remained until she went into care in 2008. She spent her last years in Mont St. Joseph and Birchview Nursing Homes. Mom was a dedicated RN at the Birch Hills Memorial Hospital until her retirement in December, 1988. She was noted for being a compassionate listener at home and in the workplace. Keeping up with Mom wasn't an easy task when she had a goal in mind. Her interest included knitting, crocheting, cooking, sewing, walking, berry picking and gardening. Mom persevered with a positive attitude through whatever came her way. She continued to knit and cook for all of us when she became legally blind at the age of 68. Her children and grandchildren could always count on her to be there for them. We love you and miss you Mom. Funeral Service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2010 at St. Mary's Anglican Church, Birch Hills, SK with the Reverend Chris Harper and the Reverend Norbert Haukenfrers officiating.
