Mrs. Annette Marie Basaraba

Basaraba (nee Vermette) Annette Marie loving wife of Walter Basaraba of 55 years was called by the Lord to join him in heaven on Friday, October 29, 2010 at the age of 73 years. She was born on May 22, 1937 in Prince Albert, SK. Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, November 3rd from River Park Memorial Chapel – 301 River Street West. Sister Renée Buliard will officiate. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, November 4th from Sacred Heart Cathedral – 1401 – 4th Avenue West – by Father Maurice Fiolleau. Annette will be forever in the hearts of her family: her husband Walter Basaraba; her six surviving children April (Travis) Sanderson, Colleen (Lyle) Lewandoski, Denise (Larry) Jantz, Marion (John) Engen, Darcy (Tracey) Basaraba, Terri (Bill) Krause, her 23 grandchildren and her 19 great-grandchildren, her brother Mervin (Grace) Vermette and a special friend May McQuarrie. Mom was a devoted wife, mother and grandma. She was kind, selfless and generous to everyone. Annette loved spending time at the lake picking berries and mushrooms, fishing and surrounded by nature, family and friends. Her grandchildren always put a sparkle in her eye and a smile on her face. Mom was giving, accepting and never judged anyone. She always welcomed you into her home for something to eat, friendship and laughter. She truly was an amazing woman and loved by many. She was predeceased by: her parents Joseph and Mary (nee Parenteau) Vermette, her in-laws Nick and Annie Basaraba, her son Brian Basaraba, her great-grandson Logan Lanoie, her 11 brothers and 1 sister. Several hours later of Annette’s passing she gently cradled her granddaughter Michelle Basaraba in her arms and they soared up to heaven together. It is the family’s request that donations be made to The Saskatchewan Lung Association – 1231 – 8th Street East, Saskatoon, SK S7H 0S5. Funeral arrangements are entrusted to the care of Colette Kadziolka.
