SISTER JEANNE CROTEAU. Sister Jeanne (Sr. Marie-Alicia) of the Sisters of the Presentation, passed away on Monday, November 8th, 2010, at the age of 90 in the Provincial House Infirmary at 1405 Bishop Pascal Place in Prince Albert, SK. Prayer service will be held in the Provincial House Chapel on Thursday, November 11th at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated from this same chapel on Friday, November 12th at 10:00 a.m. by Bishop Blaise Morand, Bishop Emeritus of Prince Albert. Sister Jeanne was born on June 21, 1920 in Coderre, SK and moved with her parents to Debden, SK where she received her schooling. In 1941 she joined the Order of the Sisters of the Presentation and began her studies in Saint Hyacinthe, QC. Sister Jeanne will be remembered for her culinary skills and the enthusiasm with which she put them to use in spite of poor health. Students and sisters who lived with her – in Duck Lake SK, St. Lazare MB, Laurier, MB, Marcelin SK, Spiritwood SK, Bellevue SK and Debden – will attest to her excellent well prepared food and generous service. After a career that spanned fifty years Sister Jeanne moved to the Provincial House in Prince Albert. Throughout these retirement years which began in 1992, she kept herself busy, useful and happy, finding ways to be of service to others in deed and in prayer. Sister Jeanne is survived by one sister Hélène Grimard of Coquitlam BC; three sisters-in-law Sarah (Gallant) Croteau, Louise (Wood) Croteau and Françoise (Gaudreault) Croteau as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Albert and Alice (née Jalbert); her two sisters Eva and Emma; eight brothers Emmanuel, George, Alfred, Charles, Gérard, Omer, Marcel and Léo and two brothers-in-law Arthur Grimard and Joseph Kinsella. Interment will take place in the Sisters’ Section, South Hill Cemetery. Family and friends may send email condolences to www.riverparkfuneral.ca.
