Dwane Hugh Barton

Dwane was born at home on November 27, 1934 in Lindsay, Saskatchewan, and passed away peacefully at Herb Bassett Home in Prince Albert on December 28, 2010 at the age of 76. Dwane took great pride in farming the Barton family farm in Macdowall, Saskatchewan, where he lived all of his adult life. He also worked at the P.A. Lumber Yard, and as a carpenter at the Prince Albert School Board and the Prince Albert Pulp Mill. Dwane was a much loved brother and will be sadly missed by his siblings; Vernice (Leon) Podbielski, Ina (Al) Holtom, Lorna (Clarence) Lehne, Dan (Bev) Barton, Cora (Brian) Williamson, Ross (Betty) Barton; his brother-in-law Craig Williams; as well as numerous relatives, friends and the wonderful staff at Herb Bassett Home. He was predeceased by his father Earl; his mother Violet; his youngest sister Connie Williams; and his niece Wanda Holtom-Turgeon. In honor of Dwane’s wishes, a small funeral for family and friends will be held at Gray’s Funeral Chapel, 575 – 28th Street West, Prince Albert. Interment will be held at Deer Park Cemetery. In lieu of other tributes, memorial donations may be made to Paradise Path / Memory Lane, Herb Bassett Home, 1220 – 25th Street West, Prince Albert, SK S6V 7V6.
