WILKINSON, Leonard William “Bill” late of Prince Albert. It is with great sadness the family announces Bill’s passing on Saturday, January 8, 2011 at the Herb Bassett Home at the age of 97 years. Bill was born on February 16, 1913 in Prince Albert to Leonard and Emma Wilkinson. He is survived by his son Robert Wilkinson; daughter D. Jean (Dave) Holtom; brother Vern (Isabel) Wilkinson; sister Maude Neudorf; seven grandchildren, several great and great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was predeceased by his wife of 69 years Paula Wilkinson in August 2006; parents Leonard and Emma Wilkinson; brothers Tom, Jack and Jim Wilkinson; sister Dorothy Wilkins; brothers-in-law Lloyd Wilkins, Deidrick Neudorf, Paul Vezeau, Raoul Vezeau and Bill Mitchell; sisters-in-law Harriet Wilkinson, Ruth Wilkinson, Rhea Mitchell and Edith Vezeau. At a younger age Bill worked on the family farm and later in the bush cutting and hauling “ties” and wood in the Lily Plain, MacDowall area. For a short time he also worked as a “cowboy” herding five hundred head of cattle into P.A. Stockyards for Dr. Bliss. He also worked at construction but his true interest was in automotives. He formed his own company and for many years enjoyed the car business. Bill’s three years at Herb Bassett were enjoyable, where on “good days” he kept staff entertained with his songs, jokes, impressive long-term memory, knowledge and quick wit. Bill will sadly be missed by his family, friends, and special friends of over 65 years, Lee and Dorothy Harper of Canora, SK. In lieu of flowers, donations of donors choice can be made. Funeral Service will be held Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 2:00 pm in Northern Funeral Service-MacKenzie Chapel, with Pastor Dennis Serfas, Director of Spiritual Care officiating. Interment Prince Albert Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of Northern Funeral Service, Brian Stobbs and Bev Stobbs Funeral Directors. 763-8488 www.northernfuneralservice.ca
